Billing
Your Schoolea subscription gives you unlimited access to manage your events and staff.
When you first sign up to Schoolea, you'll be given a seven day free trial to create an event and see whether Schoolea is suitable for your school. Before your trial is up, we'll email you with information on continuing your subscription.
Monthly vs yearly pricing
Schoolea offers either monthly or yearly pricing. Your plan can be switched using the Billing section within the Settings page, and will be reflected when your subscription is renewed.
- Yearly pricing offers more of a discount than monthly billing.
- Monthly pricing offers more flexibility if you only run one or two events a year.
When your subscription lapses
If a renewal payment fails or you let the subscription end, access is rolled back in two stages: staff-side surfaces stop immediately, and a 14-day grace period keeps the event website open to parents while you sort out billing.
At subscription expriry
- Staff can no longer sign in to the Schoolea app and are sent to the billing page to renew.
- Booking notifications, event reminders, and post-event summaries to staff stop being delivered.
- Bulk email notifications to attendees can no longer be created from the admin portal.
- Calendar feeds (
.ical) that staff have subscribed in their personal calendars stop updating.
The next 14 days
- Your event website stays online at your usual address. Parents can keep registering, making bookings, and managing existing bookings exactly as before.
- Reminder emails to attendees keep going out. A parent who registered the day before you missed payment still receives the reminder for their booking.
The grace period exists so that an unpaid invoice on a Friday night doesn't break your school's relationship with families who already trusted you with a booking. Renew within 14 days and there's no visible interruption for parents.
After 14 days
- Your event website is taken offline. Parents visiting the URL see a "Portal Not Found" page indistinguishable from a school that never existed.
- Reminder emails to attendees stop being delivered.
Financial Managers and Administrators can sign in to the Billing section of the Settings page at any point to renew the subscription. As soon as that's done, full access is restored straight away.
If you find that your subscription is ending, and you need a little more time to finish an active event, we can offer flexibility so that you can finish your event without having to renew your subscription for another month or year.
